We received the disk you see in the photo a few days ago. After the technical check that was done we found that the Platter (the surface of the disc) has been scratched. this disc has two platters, four surfaces, four heads. As the fourth surface (H3) can easily be seen, its damaged. The other three surfaces were tested and no damage was found. The question for the client is: is the data recoverable? The answer is no! Why: without going into technical issues we will say that when you put a new set of heads to read the surface, as soon as it passes the point of the problematic surface the heads automatically burn. The chances of getting even a part of the data with significant losses are very small. What is the cause of this damage to the disk surface? The main reason that the surface can suffer such damage is the persistent effort of either the users themselves or unskilled technicians to try to read the data after the problem the disk presented. That is, after one of the heads suffered damage and the disk stopped working. What to do if the disk is not recognized by the system. We immediately shut down the power supply to the drive and give it to a specialized data recovery company. For data recovery trust Enterdata.
