It is considered one of the most difficult cases of data recovery. This Raid was set up on a Server running 7 VMDK with SQL Server on each. Two of the five SAS hard drives didn't run ok, with one needing a head swap. Afterwards, where the hardest part of the recovery is here, is to rebuild the RAID. Recovery was successful. Unfortunately, active SQL on a running VMDK could not be saved, not because of recovery, but it 'hit' the time the hard drives were damaged. Fortunately, we managed to get the back up of the previous days and so the loss was gone to minimum.
